Housing

Revised affordable house strategy and rental tenant protection. Leverage smart, high-tech solutions to effectively achieve “real” housing affordability. Examples include transferring public assets at “zero cost,” utilizing air rights, adjusting land-use zoning, and directly converting idle retail space, office buildings, and old factories into affordable housing or modular apartments. Revise rental policies to cover both long-term and short-term rentals. Secure more funding support from provincial and federal governments.

Transit & getting around

Encourage high technology and new energy sources, and utilize technological means to manage urban traffic. Promote the transformation of traditional roads towards digitalization and networking, focusing on addressing climate resilience and traffic safety. Provide long-term support for intelligent connected electric vehicles. Leveraging high-tech solutions—such as AI and digital transformation—to manage Toronto, including improving government efficiency and addressing traffic congestion.

Taxes & city services

Let's do Tax Burden Relief and Tax Reform with efficient fiscal management! Encourage businesses to invest, expand production, and create more jobs. Xue believes tax revenue should increase from economic growth and job creation, not from current residents’ hands. This is the correct direction of Toronto! Lower taxes for enterprises will encourage investment and attract more foreign capital, thereby creating more jobs and fostering a real virtuous cycle. We need to alleviate the burden on families by raising tax exemptions or lowering tax rates across tax brackets.

Policing & safety

Safety is paramount; drugs are a crime. Lowering the threshold for drug use could lead to a surge in abusers, severely impacting community safety. Increase police presence and strengthen mental health support. Remove unauthorized campsites in city within 24 hours. Inspect, repair, and upgrade public street facilities to “beautify” Toronto. Collaborate with community service centers to provide multicultural services to community members of diverse ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.

Other

Support employment education and training. Help young people gain professional-related work experience by providing social connections and job matching. Encourage diverse activities to increase employment opportunities. Implement targeted policies to attract more businesses to Toronto to recruit. Support training for the unemployed and advanced job skills training for existing employees. Strongly Support Toronto Business. Providing businesses with municipal funding, business opportunities, resource connections, and training. Aim to attract investment and cultivate new partners.
