Housing

Currently housing in Toronto is regarded as highly unaffordable. Building more units without finding cost cutting measures will not be effective. Yes we need to build more units. Yes we need to lower development charges and access federal as well as provincial funding if we want to see an affordable product on the market.

Transit & getting around

My focus is on ensuring our buses, trains, and the LRT run predictably and on time by demanding strict construction/ maintenance accountability and implementing smarter traffic coordination to ease bottlenecks. At the same time, everyone deserves to feel safe while riding. I will work humbly with transit security and local law enforcement to increase visibility on vehicles and at stations so that every commuter feels secure throughout their entire journey

Taxes & city services

Over the past four years, property taxes have increased by a compounding 28%, yet the quality of our city services continues to fade. This is unacceptable. We must find real efficiencies within city hall so that we can maintain a reasonable level of taxation while restoring municipal services to a standard that actually reflects your hard-earned tax dollars.

Policing & safety

While many police officers have retired, the department has not replaced those same numbers, leaving frontline forces stretched thin. To keep our neighborhoods secure, we must replace these losses and restore policing to pre-pandemic levels. Once elected, I will ask for an appointment to the Toronto Police Services Board to ensure we properly rebuild the force, increase officer visibility, and bring proactive community safety back to our streets.

Climate & environment

When it comes to the climate and our environment, we must all be held accountable. As your Councillor, I will look into programs to help property owners reduce pollution and make a real impact on our environment. Crucially, I will make sure that Ward 8 constituents are properly notified of these initiatives so that our residents, as well as the surrounding communities, can fully benefit from them.
